The Pinel Butterfly Cuff for Limb and Wrist Restraints

Secure limbs quickly and easily with our unique Pinel Butterfly Cuff Limb Restraints

When seconds count, our unique, one-way Velcro™ cuff allows quick and secure application of Limb and Wrist Restraints.

Simple to use limb restraints

The universal size allows the strap to fit a variety of patients. And for patients with large wrists or limbs, the overlapping strap may be used to extend the size.

The grey tab at the end of the black portion is held firmly when applying the cuff. Strike as close to the wrist as possible, angle slightly away from the wrist, push firmly downward, and then apply the white portion.

How do you properly apply wrist restraints?

Using just the Velcro: Grab the Grey tab on the black Velcro™ portion. Angle restraints away from the hand to follow the curve of the wrist.

Using the overlap strap: For added security, pass the short strap over the cuff, through the buckle – join the other strap over the belly.

Limb Restraints

Black first, then white. The cuff should be slightly crossed following the slope of the arm. This cuff closing procedure is most often done urgently and under high stress. It must be done automatically.

The Velcro™ cover should be placed on the black Velcro™ after every use to keep it clean from fibres and prevent the fabric from being damaged. The limb cuff comes with one strap, one Velcro™ cover, and two buttons/pin/lanyard locking systems.

Mobile Restraining

The long utility strap can be used as a temporary soft shackle to prevent running or kicking. It can also be passed under a chair, attached to the waist belt, and used to prevent the patient from sliding out of the chair.

Finally, when buckled together as a Waist Belt, the combined small utility straps can serve as the attachment points of the limb belts. Limb Restraints can then be adjusted to any length.

The Pinel Long Utility Strap

There are three main uses for the long utility strap :emergency restraining, limb restraint, and mobile restraining.

For emergency restraining use the long utility strap with the brown trim to control the upper body. This prevents head butting, biting, and powerful rotational punches.

The long utility strap allows control of the limb belts at the ankles and can also be used for mobile restraining. The strap allows the handler to have complete control of the patient's upper body while transporting them. When attached to the limbs, the patient is unable to push the limb straps down.

The long utility strap comes with one strap and two button/pin/lanyard locking system.

The Pinel Small Utility Strap

The small utility strap can be used in conjunction with other straps to help restrict patients in specific positions to prevent harm.

A few common uses for the small strap are:

  1. When dealing with exceptionally strong patients.

  2. Preventing patients from reaching and undoing other straps with their hands or mouth.

  3. Providing extra security when attached to the end of beds or chairs to help prevent specific movement.
